Revoking Membership

In some cases, the member of a union or professional organization can terminate membership when they see fit. However, some Colorado school districts have negotiated limitations on when teachers can stop their automatic membership dues deductions. In addition, four school districts (Pueblo 60, Pueblo 70, Alamosa, and South Conejos) require non-union member teachers to opt out each year (Colorado Springs 11 now accepts a one-time opt-out from non-union members) to avoid paying an amount equivalent to full union dues.

The dates when teachers can revoke deductions are listed in RED – specific guidelines for the revocation process, where available, are also listed. Also where available, direct links to email contacts and telephone number listings are included to offices listed for handling revocation requests.
